Slipintosoft mulberry silk sleepwear is a 22-momme pure silk pyjama line sold direct, and only part of its pitch survives checking: the fabric specification and the policies are verifiable, while the sleep and skin benefits printed on the same pages are not.

Methodology: every Slipintosoft figure here is quoted from the maker’s own pages, read on 15 October 2026, and every silk claim is either matched to a published study or marked unsupported.

Key takeaways

  • The long two-piece women’s set is stated as 100% 22 momme mulberry silk, grade 6A long fibre, in nine sizes from XS to 3X.
  • One set is not one price: variants ran $229 to $269 the day the page was read, against compare-at figures of $259 to $309.
  • The page describes 14 colours; the selector carries 11, three of them not on the described list.
  • Care is the real cost of ownership: dry cleaning recommended, otherwise 30 °C gentlest cycle, silk detergent, hang dry, no bleach, no tumble dry.
  • The 2024 systematic review of sleepwear fibre searched for silk and included no silk study — the tested fibres were cotton, polyester, wool and blends.
  • The CLOTHES trial randomised 300 children to silk garments or standard care and found no difference in eczema severity, medication use or skin infections.
  • Returns run 30 days but you pay the postage, there is no prepaid label, and three or more items can carry a 10–20% handling fee.

What is Slipintosoft mulberry silk sleepwear, and what do you get?

Slipintosoft is a direct-to-consumer silk brand selling pyjama sets, robes, nightgowns and bedding. Its specification is unusually concrete for the category — until the point where independent verification would begin.

The specification itself is fine. What deserves a buyer’s attention is that three of those rows disagree with the page they sit on.

Where does the Slipintosoft product page contradict itself?

Card comparing what the Slipintosoft product page states against what its selector actually offers, for sizes, colours and price

Three mismatches, all on the same page.

Sizes. The written description ends its size list at 1X; the selector sells 2X and 3X as well. Those two cost more, and are the ones the refund policy singles out for fees.

Colours. The description lists fourteen colours, naming Blue, Light Apricot, Red and Champagne among them. The selector offers eleven, and three of those — Lavender, Purple and Gray — are not in the described list at all. A shopper expecting Champagne will not find it.

Price. The set reads as a single item but is priced per variant: $229, $249, $259 and $269 across its ninety-nine size-and-colour combinations, with compare-at figures from $259 to $309. Plus sizes sit at the top of that range.

None of this makes the garment worse. It does mean the page is not a reliable description of what is being sold — which matters once you reach the return terms.

Does silk sleepwear actually help you sleep better?

Card showing the sleepwear fibres tested in sleep trials — cotton, polyester, Merino wool and blends — against silk, for which the 2024 systematic review found no study

No trial has tested it, in either direction. The 2024 systematic review in the Journal of Sleep Research screened 2,362 references and pooled nine studies of sleepwear and bedding fibre against measured sleep. Silk was in the search string and returned nothing; the review’s summary lists the sleepwear fibres tested as cotton, polyester, wool and blends.

What the review does show is that fibre can move sleep, and the fibre with evidence behind it is wool. Wool sleepwear shortened sleep onset against cotton in young adults at 17 °C and in older adults at 30 °C. At 22 °C that flipped, and cotton produced more deep sleep.

The proposed mechanism is thermal rather than chemical. Faster sleep onset is associated with moisture buffering — 9.9 kJ·m⁻² for wool against 6.9 for cotton and 0.6 for polyester — because falling asleep tracks a drop in core temperature. Silk has no published figure in that set, and that absence is the answer. If overheating is the actual complaint, the room and the bedding matter more than the pyjamas: our better-sleep guide covers those, and our Dagsmejan pyjama review covers a brand that does publish thermal figures.

Is mulberry silk sleepwear hypoallergenic or dust-mite proof?

The product description calls the set “naturally hypoallergenic”, and the FAQ goes further: silk is “naturally resistant to fungus, mold, mites, and allergens”. Neither is paired with a test method.

The allergy literature measures something far more specific. Mite allergens travel mostly on particles larger than 10 µm and are not usually airborne when a bed is undisturbed; the barrier that works is a woven cover with a pore size up to 6 µm fitted around a mattress, duvet or pillow. Slipintosoft publishes no pore size or barrier test. Pyjamas are not an encasement anyway — they sit on the sleeper rather than sealing the reservoir, and the review lists clothing among dust reservoirs.

On skin, the strongest evidence is the CLOTHES trial, which randomised 300 children aged 1 to 15 with moderate-to-severe eczema to silk garments plus standard care or standard care alone, for six months. There was no evidence of a difference in severity, and none in the days topical treatments were used. The trial garments were marketed as antimicrobial, and the researchers found no reduction in skin infections. “Hypoallergenic” here is best read as a fabric with no synthetic content and no wool scratch — real, and much narrower than the FAQ implies. Eczema is a question for a clinician.

What does momme mean, and is 22 momme better than 19?

Bar chart of 19, 22 and 25 momme silk weights with the definition that momme is the weight of 100 yards of silk, 45 inches wide, in pounds

Momme is a weight, not a thread count. The brand’s FAQ defines it as the weight in pounds of a piece of silk 100 yards long and 45 inches wide, with a usable range of 11 to 25. So 22 momme carries more silk per square metre than 19: heavier, more opaque, more snag-resistant — and also warmer and slower to dry, which cuts against the “cool in summer” half of the all-seasons claim on the same page.

The FAQ adds that higher momme means higher quality. That is the brand’s framing, not a property of the fabric. Momme says nothing about weave, finish, dye or stitching, and nothing about the 6A grade, which describes raw filament rather than finished cloth. Between two sets it is a real difference in hand and opacity, not a quality ranking.

How do you wash mulberry silk sleepwear without ruining it?

The care panel asks for professional dry cleaning first. At home it permits hand or machine washing in lukewarm water at 30 °C on the most gentle cycle available, with neutral or silk-specific detergent, hang drying out of direct sunlight, and no bleach or tumble drying. The FAQ’s hand-wash routine is a three-minute soak, a 30 °C rinse and a towel press before hanging.

Every line there is a constraint on a garment worn against skin for eight hours a night. Pyjamas are the most frequently washed thing most people own, and a 30 °C cycle with special detergent and air drying is a different weekly routine from cotton.

5 claims on the Slipintosoft pages we could not verify

Where the pages assert something checkable and offer no evidence, we record it rather than resolve it. These are worth asking the seller before ordering.

  1. “It stimulates the immune system, gets rids of stress, gives an extra boost of energy in the morning… gets rid of the dark circles under the eyes.” The FAQ’s answer to what silk does. No study is cited, and we found none supporting any of the four.
  2. “Naturally resistant to fungus, mold, mites, and allergens.” No barrier test, pore size or antimicrobial test method is published anywhere on the site.
  3. “Keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter.” No thermal or water-vapour resistance figures, and no silk sleepwear study to check the claim against.
  4. The OEKO-TEX® and GOTS marks. Both are verifiable by design: STANDARD 100 tests an article against harmful substances and runs a public label check, and GOTS requires every company in the chain to hold certification. Slipintosoft shows both as logos with explanatory text and no certificate number, so neither register lookup can be run — and STANDARD 100 is a chemical-safety label, silent on performance.
  5. Grade “6A” silk. A trade grading of raw filament rather than a certification from a named body, with no certificate, mill or testing house identified.

What does a Slipintosoft return actually cost?

The 2023 version of this page called the process hassle-free. The policy is more specific than that.

Return termWhat the policy states
Window30 days from receipt; email for instructions before shipping anything back
Return postageCustomer pays, non-refundable, no prepaid label, trackable method required
ConditionUnused, unworn, unwashed, undamaged, original packaging
Three or more itemsA 10–20% handling fee may apply to the total value returned
Plus sizesReturning two or more items in XXXL, 1X, 2X or 3X attracts a portion of the fees
Never returnableClearance items, silk lingerie, customised items
Refund timing3–5 business days to the original payment method after inspection

Read alongside the size mismatch, that is the practical risk in one sentence: a set costing up to $269, a description that disagrees with the selector about which sizes and colours exist, and a process that charges you for hedging across sizes. Emailing for the flat measurements of a size costs nothing and removes most of it — the same caution our note on telling break-in from a wrong fit applies to pillows, where the Aeris Contour Pillow publishes its 60 × 40 cm footprint and 12-to-10 cm contour for the same reason.

Frequently asked questions

Is Slipintosoft real mulberry silk?

The maker states 100% pure mulberry silk, grade 6A long fibre, with non-toxic dyes, while noting that some loungewear items are silk knits with lower silk content. Those are the brand’s own statements: no independent fibre test and no certificate number are published.

Can Slipintosoft silk pyjamas be machine washed?

Yes, with conditions. The brand recommends dry cleaning first and permits hand or machine washing at 30 °C on the gentlest available cycle, with neutral or silk-specific detergent. Bleach and tumble drying are ruled out, and hang drying should be away from direct sunlight.

Will silk sleepwear help me sleep better?

No trial has tested it. The 2024 systematic review of sleepwear fibre and measured sleep outcomes searched for silk and included no silk study. The fibre with the best evidence is wool, which shortened sleep onset against cotton at 17 °C in young adults and at 30 °C in older adults.

Does silk sleepwear help with eczema or sensitive skin?

The CLOTHES trial found no difference in eczema severity after six months, no drop in topical medication use and no fewer skin infections. Silk has no synthetic content and no wool scratch, which some people with sensitive skin prefer. Treating a condition is a question for a clinician.

Is silk sleepwear dust-mite proof?

Not in the sense the word implies. Mite-allergen barriers are woven covers with a pore size up to 6 µm fitted around a mattress, duvet or pillow, and Slipintosoft publishes no pore size. Pyjamas sit on the sleeper rather than sealing the reservoir.

How much does a Slipintosoft silk pyjama set cost?

The long two-piece women’s set was priced per variant at $229 to $269 on 15 October 2026, against compare-at figures of $259 to $309.

Is Slipintosoft mulberry silk sleepwear worth it?

It is worth it if you are buying fabric and finish, and you read the care panel and return policy before the photography. The specification is real. The layer above it — the immune system, the dark circles, the mite resistance — is not established, and none of it needs to be true for a silk pyjama set to be a pleasant thing to own. If better sleep is the goal rather than a nicer garment, our sleep-hygiene tips are the cheaper place to start.

What silk cannot change is what sits under your head. A smoother surface against your face is a surface change; neck support is a question of loft and firmness. Both pillows below state their dimensions so you can check them against your own shoulder measurement first, the same way our guides to pillows for side sleepers, pillows for neck pain and extra-firm support work.
